CEREC One-Visit Crowns
Placing crowns on broken and decayed teeth is typically uncomfortable and time consuming. With the new CEREC restoration process, patients can have the crown fitted and placed in one visit!
The CEREC technology uses a small camera and computer aided design (CAD/CAM) software to make the crown within Dr. Jayson Bird’s dentist office in Idaho Falls. With the aid of a specialized computer, crowns fit with precision, look more like the real tooth and Dr. Bird can leave more of the original tooth in place.

The CEREC Software & Equipment
Dr. Bird invested in the knowledge and equipment necessary to provide additional comfort to patients needing a crown.
Using special equipment called an Omnicam, Dr. Bird can take an LED light scan of your tooth within his dentist office in Idaho Falls. Dr. Bird can then design a crown with CADD/CAM software.
When the crown is digitally created, the information is transferred to a state-of-the-art machine located in Dr. Bird’s dentist office in Idaho Falls. Then, a high-speed diamond bur mills the crown with precision as the video demonstrates below.
The permanent crown is then placed with the patient making only one visit!
